Our FREE LIVE Streaming Video Coverage Of The Spring Fling Million In Las Vegas Continues Today! 5-Days Of FREE RACING!!!

That’s right folks, we’re SUPER excited to be bringing you 5 days of awesome bracket racing from The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway at the 2021 K&N Spring Fling Million presented by Optima Batteries. While the big show starts on Wednesday, we’ll be live on Tuesday afternoon for the American Race Cars, Todd’s Extreme Custom Paint, Dragster Shootout Race. The winner will take home a rolling American Race Cars 240″ Dragster chassis with a complete custom paint job by Todd’s. This is a big shootout for 32 cars and will be the perfect way to start off the weekend here in Vegas.

We will be live Tuesday afternoon, and then all day Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for all the racing action. Check out the flyer below for details on the payout and event prizes, but know that Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday racers will be going after $30,000 to win. Friday is the big money Million race which has a guaranteed purse of $250,000 to the winner regardless of entries. We’re pretty sure this race is going to be off the hook based on our last west coast race this year. Given the fact that all the heavy hitters are heading cross country for it as well, this promises to be one hell of an event.

Murder Nova’s F1X ProCharged 1955 Chevrolet Is Hitting The Dyno! E85 And No Intercooler. What Will It Make?

We shared the first drive of Shawn’s 1955 Chevy, after it had sat for 11 years, and couldn’t be happier with the giant grin on his face. I know what that’s like, and am stoked that he’s got this bitchin ride back up and running. The fact that it uses the same F1X ProCharger that we’re using on Ethyl, also makes me happy. When we had the F1A94 on the car we also ran it on E85 with no intercooler, so I know that you can make real power with that setup. This one should make real power as well. So what will it make? Will Shawn be happy? I’m not going to spoil it for you, because you need to watch it yourself, but I can tell you that this combo is capable of making well over 1,000 horsepower at the tire. Actually a few hundred more than 1,000 is doable with that blower. Can they do it without an intercooler though?

I like intercooled combos, don’t get me wrong, but running on E85 without an intercooler can be done pretty easily as well. And without all that extra plumbing and such, it is a much simpler system to install. And don’t forget, most turbocharged race cars running methanol don’t use an intercooler because the alcohol itself lowers intake temps so much that an intercooler is just extra weight with little reward. E85 isn’t quite as good as methanol at cooling the intake charge, but it is damn close.

Watch the video, enjoy it, and let us know what you think about this beast.

Watch This LS Blow Thru Turbo S-10 Get Built In Just 10 Minutes. I Wish My Stuff Went Together This Quick!

This square body S-10 is a clean little truck that started out like most projects, coming home on an open trailer. But after lots of time and money, it became a cool street strip machine that looks rad and ran low 11’s its first time out. The project continues reaching for the 10s and beyond, but this is a pretty cool time lapse of the initial build. It’s a cool looking little truck, for sure, and we’d gladly drive this thing. Wouldn’t you?

I’ve come to like the videos where folks make a 10 minute version of their builds. They are inspiring, because it makes each step seem simple. Sometimes it is easy to become overwhelmed by project cars because we look at the entire build instead of thinking about just each small task as its own project. You can’t build every aspect of a car or truck at once. It’s all small steps, and watching it this way reinforces that.

I’m a fan of square body S-10 trucks, as most who read the site regularly know, and this one is just clean and simple.  Nothing fancy, nothing complicated, just a cool little truck with an LS and a single turbo. What’s not to love.

Watch How Boninfante Tests Their SFI Bellhousings By Exploding Flywheels Inside Them!

Having and SFI rated bellhousing, or scattershield, is a really really smart idea for anyone running big power with a clutch. It’s also a requirement for certain classes, and the only way to house a clutch in certain applications like top alcohol and top fuel cars. With the extreme stresses that clutch and flywheel parts are going through on these cars, you want something capable of holding the carnage inside when stuff goes wrong. But how do they test that? I mean how do you actually make a flywheel explode to see if your bellhousing works right? Or is it just math like so many engineered products today?

Well luckily for you there are two videos below that not only show you how they make the flywheel explode, at a given rpm no less, but also how they test it and what it looks like after one blows itself all to hell. The testing obviously has to be safe, so there is another scattershield over the SFI rated Boninfante unit that is giant and made of what looks like 3/8 to 1/2 plate. Watching them talk about how they experimented to get the flywheel to explode at the right rpm is pretty cool as well. I think it would be ultra cool to be there and watch testing like this go down. Until then, I’m watching the video again. Enjoy!

SDBA Drag Boat Races Will Be LIVE Here On BANGshift Starting Sunday Morning!

That’s right folks, we’ve got more Southern Drag Boat Association racing coming to you live right here at BANGshift.com. We were live Saturday morning and will be live again Sunday morning around 9 am Central Time. We had an awesome time bringing you their Paris Texas event a few months ago and are happy to announce that their El Reno Oklahoma event this Saturday and Sunday will be LIVE in it’s entirety right here! We cannot stress enough just how cool it is to watch the drag boats hauling ass across the water. We’re talking 3 second 1/8 mile boats, and all kinds of combinations. Hydros, Jets, Flat bottoms, Pro Mods, Super Stock, and so much more. The racing action is fun, the scenery is cool, and the people are an absolute riot.

When we did the event in Paris, the welcome that we got from everyone at the SDBA, and the racers in general, was absolutely amazing. They treated us like family, fed us, welcomed us with open arms, and were so genuinely thrilled to have us on site that most were acting like kids in a candy store.

This weekend is supposed to be in the low 80’s, with great conditions for racing on the water, and I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of record breaking runs we might see. Tune in Saturday morning, at 8 am Central, as we kick off the racing action. You won’t want to miss it.

1320 Video’s Coverage From Rocky Mountain Race Week 2020 2.0 Starts Here!

2020 has been one hell of a strange one, with events cancelled, quarantine’s happening, and people being ordered to stay at home. But thanks to the determination and fortitude of a few drag racers in Colorado, the only drive and drag event of 2020 happened not just once, but twice. We are of course talking about 1320Video Rocky Mountain Race Week, which is by far the best one ever conceived. Don’t get me wrong, we dig Drag Week and Mid-West Drags, but RMRW is where it is at. When Matt Frost announced that RMRW 2020 was in fact happening, and we all met in Colorado for a great week of road tripping and drag racing, there were many that thought it was amazing that he was able to pull it off. And we all understand why. But RMRW 2020 did happen, was epic, and went off smooth as silk. So when Hot Rod Magazine announced that Drag Week 2020 wouldn’t be happening, Matt jumped in to offer an event for those guys and gals that had already taken time off work and were ready for some racing vacation.

Just days after Drag Week was cancelled, Rocky Mountain Race Week 2020 2.0 was announced to be happening the same week and would be starting and ending in Tulsa with stops at Heartland Park Topeka, Thunder Valley Oklahoma, and SRCA in Great Bend Kansas. We streamed the every minute of racing action live, and then the guys at 1320Video made sure that all the on road and dramatic moments were caught so you could enjoy them. This was one epic adventure, and here are the 1320Video Daily Updates for the entire event.

LIVE Big Money Bracket Racing For Juniors! The Summer Blast Race Is A Junior Dragsters Only Event With Big Money On The Line.

For the last few years people have been talking about putting on big money bracket races just for the Jr. Dragster crowd, and to answer that call is The Summer Blast race at Beaver Springs Dragway where Jr. Dragster racers will be going after $10,000! Can you imagine winning $10,000 at 10 years old? Or even at 15? Hell no, but these kids are going for it. We’re talking big stakes, killer reaction times, and family for for the weekend. It’s The Summer Blast and all the action is live right here thanks to our friends at MotorManiaTV. Watch all the action below, and don’t forget to like and share and subscibe and ring the bell and rub your belly and whatever else they tell you to do for YouTube videos!

What I love about this race is that there is nothing else going down the track that the Jr. Dragster drivers have to play second fiddle to. This is their chance to be the stars, outside of the Jr. Finals and those kinds of points races. This is all about them, the way it should be, and I imagine the energy there is intense and fun. I bet the parent crew chiefs are feeling the pressure today too!
